In a curious unravelling, it would appear that 9 out of the 12 bystanders caught in the conflict of the August 24, 2012 Empire State Building shootings (Wikipedia) were in fact hit by police officers and not the gunman.
Authorities claim that the two police officers who are responsible for the accidental wounds had never fired their weapons before.
New York Times were harshly shunned for their graphic images of the shooting (see here) and so in a response to the true nature of death we will just upload more images.
Officer Craig Matthews opened fire seven times and Officer Robert Sinishtaj shot nine times at 58-year-old Jeffrey Johnson on a busy Friday morning after Johnson shot dead his former co-worker.
This revelation comes less than a few weeks after NYPD shot and killed a knife-wielding man in Times Square. The incident caused many to criticize that the NYPD had overreacted.
Ironically, New York mayor Michael Bloomberg has criticized US President Barack Obama on the lack of gun control in America, claiming it could have prevented the shootings.
