Australian and Canadian authorities are trying to catch a Vancouver man accused of sexual assault to a minor. He is believed to be in Sydney, Australia.

The 63-year-old male stands accused of various child sex charges, including child sexual assault, indecent assault and gross indecency.

Jamieson Richard Glendinning is wanted in Canada after he failed to appear at his trial in the Surrey Provincial Court in British Columbia in June.

There has been little comment as to why he was actually permitted to depart from Canada, let alone enter Australian customs without questioning, but it is alleged that he was not on any form of flight-risk or movement alert list.
