Whether or not you agree with the organizations claim that Google’s Street View platform breaches human privacy rights, this interesting mix of art and activism is certainly inspiring.
The Street Ghosts Project is aimed at using coloured printed versions of the person that was captured by the Google cameras; this organisation pastes a cut-out and places it on the exact location. They call it “Street Ghosting”
The idea is founded on the basis that the life-sized pictures of people found on Google’s Street View are printed and posted without authorization – the legality being that Google themselves didn’t have permission to photograph the person.![]()
