298026After months of questioning, distress and efforts Norway’s court has declared Anders Behring Breivik to be legally sane and has sent him to prison for 21 years.

Throughout the case he insisted he was sane and denied that he was guilty, seeking to defend his attacks by saying they were essential to discontinue the “Islamisation” of Norway.

Prosecutors had called for him to be considered insane; however five judges were undivided in presiding that Breivik was sane.

He was convicted of terrorism and deliberate murder, and given the maximum sentence of 21 years’ incarceration. His minimum length of imprisonment is 10 years.

Breivik smiled as the decision was read out.
